Swan 62

Crew Recruitment Information for Mate/Deckhand position

Requirement.

A young Deckhand/Mate is required from now until the end of September to work aboard a Swan 62 based in the south of France. Responsibilities include cleaning, basic maintenance and some sailing with the owners.

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dream Sailing management when the owners are not aboard. This is an ideal way to gain experience for someone at the beginning of their career in yachting and a Yachtmaster with commercial endorsement is required.

The Person.

Ideally aged in their 20s the individual will need to be reliable and hard-working with a sensible and mature outlook. The yacht’s owners are highly experienced sailors and it is important that the Deckhand/Mate has a suitable degree of sailing knowledge and proficiency. The preferred candidate will have sailed extensively from an early age and will have a true passion for the sport.

The Company.

Dream Sailing Limited is a yacht charter specialist established in 2003. The company serves a growing market for luxury, fully crewed yacht charters aboard sailing yachts and manages a fleet of five yachts from 55ft – 90ft. During the summer season the fleet is based on the French Riviera.

Dream Sailing provides a friendly, approachable service to owners and clients from looking after their yacht to ensuring their holiday aboard exceeds expectations. The objective is to have delighted clients who become friends; “Nothing was too much trouble” is the sentiment we like to hear them expressing! On this basis, we believe that the business will flourish naturally.

Dream Sailing Management.

Founder Directors Alan and Michelle both quit successful careers in senior management in order to change their lifestyle, and now live near to Port Grimaud on the Cote d’Azur. Three years ago, crew members Matt and Trish joined the management team.

As a team, our prime objective is to enjoy life and have fun whilst earning a living. Whilst this is never meant to exclude hard work, experience so far has shown that it’s very easy to have a great time whilst you’re helping others to do the same and, if you get that part right, earning a living happens naturally.

Remuneration.

We are a British company and we pay our crew members in pounds sterling. Remuneration for this position will be dependent upon experience.
