BLUE TITAN

Chef/Hostess Recruitment Specification

Requirement.

A chef/hostess is required as crew for Blue Titan, a Mediterranean 88, twin engine centre board cutter designed by Hood. This is a seasonal position, from April to October.

Blue Titan is a luxury yacht, available for charter and also used by her owners. She is based in the western Mediterranean (Cote d’Azur, Corsica, Sardinia and Italy) throughout the summer. She accommodates up to eight guests and operates with a crew of three (Skipper and Mate in addition to the Chef/Hostess).

The successful applicant should be available to start work at the beginning of April 2008.

The Person.

The successful applicant will be an excellent cook, experienced at cooking on board a yacht, as well as being a keen sailor. Evidence of formal cookery training will be an asset. She will also be an experienced hostess who enjoys caring for the yacht’s owners and charter guests.

A relaxed, easy-going nature coupled with an ability to get on with a wide variety of people is essential. At the same time, beneath this relaxed nature must be a strong work ethic and the chef/hostess should be prepared to go to great lengths in order to ensure that the yacht owner and his family, as well as charter guests, enjoy their time aboard Blue Titan to the maximum. She should want to meet people and find it rewarding to help others enjoy themselves. Some spoken French and/or Italian will also be useful, as will an enthusiasm for learning.

The Owners.

The Owners have sailed together with their family extensively on and across the North and South Atlantic with their former yacht, also a Hood cutter, and acquired Blue Titan some two years ago. They are keen that Blue Titan builds a successful charter career as well as being a family yacht that they can enjoy themselves. Their interest and enthusiasm for her is enormous and all crew members can be assured of their support and friendship.

Dream Sailing Limited.

Blue Titan is managed for charter through Dream Sailing Limited, a yacht charter brokerage established in 2003. The company serves a growing market for luxury, fully crewed yacht charters on both sailing and motor yachts in excess of 55ft. Dream Sailing also promotes the yacht for charter via other brokers, managing her diary and assisting with all charter arrangements.
